EDINBURGH 2019 TICKETS

 

Choreographed, written and performed by Seke Chimutengwende and Alexandrina Hemsley.

 

Seke Chimutengwende works in dance as a performer, choreographer and teacher. He has performed with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Lost Dog and Fabulous Beast and in gallery based works by Trisha Brown and Tino Sehgal as well as with numerous independent choreographers.

 

Alexandrina Hemsley’s practice is collaborative and frequently interdisciplinary which she sees as a way of keeping knowing active and open. The work she make aims to reclaim and celebrate her identities as a mixed-race woman & tries to engage with the various cultural frameworks that mark her body on her own terms.

 

Dramaturg: Season Butler

Season Butler is a London-based writer, performance artist and teacher, and an associate producer of the I'm With You art collective.

 

Set Design: Rosie Elnile

Rosie is a performance designer based in London who thinks about how her design can be in conversation with the form of performance; her work always begins with thinking about the bodies on stage.

 

Lighting Design: Simeon Miller

Simeon is a Lighting & Audiovisual Designer and Production Manager, based in London, UK. He has worked professionally since 2010. He enjoys working closely with emerging companies and individual artists. He also works as a technician at various venues around London.

 

Sound Design: Xana

Xana is a live loop musician, sound designer, interaction designer and poet who often works collaboratively with other artists, researchers, theatre practitioners and filmmakers. Xana is passionate about working with young people; devising creative workshops; and encouraging the engagement of others with improvisational sonic experiences.

 

Costume Design: Annie Pender

Annie Pender is a costume designer and creative consultant on projects that have spanned across fashion, film, theatre and dance and art. Alongside her creative work she is a practising Integrative Psychotherapist, bringing new perspectives and approaches to explore and facilitate growth and meaning, through creativity and transformative engaged collaborative experiences.

 

Producer: Rachel Rogers

Rachel is a Freelance Producer, Programmer and Arts Consultant working from Liverpool. She is currently producing Black Holes with Seke Chimutengwende and Alexandrina Hemsley and How to be Afraid with Mary Person and Mayfield Brooks, is Creative Producer for This is Shanghai with Open Eye Gallery and Liverpool City Council and festival producer at DaDaFest.

BLACK HOLES

Black Holes is Co-Commissioned by Cambridge Junction, The Place and Chisenhale Dance Space. Supported initially by a 2016 Seed Commission for BAME artists from Camden People’s Theatre and supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Additional support from Trinity Laban and Greenwich Dance.
